hi i am Joseph Campbell and i lived and died in the 1900
and we will be talking about our significance to the hero's journey and archetypes
and i am Carl Jung and i was born in the 1800 and died in the 1900
after numerous years working as a teacher I wrote a book in 1949 titled the hero with a thousand faces, about a universal pattern in stories in all cultures. it oulined the similarities and how they can vary. now called the hero's journey.
at first i was a teacher at the Sarah lawrence college in 1934
my discovery's as a teacher and author helped understand the common patterns in stories
i proposed and developed my ideas about personalities and archetypes. I differentiated two classes of people that everybody falls into introverted and extroverted
i was a pastor and psychiatrist. after being a pastor for some time i spent the rest of my life developing my ideas.
i spent the rest of my life devoted the rest of his life to developing his ideas, especially those on the relation between psychology and religion. i too wrote a book about my discovers called Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious and how we unconsciously write about similar characters
