Is there anyway I can avoid my fate and not kill my father?
Mordred is found still alive on the raft he was sent on to die, by fishermother who raises him as her child. So once Mordred gets older a lady called Nyneve comes to take him away to Lothian. The fishermother was devastated but knew there was nothing she could do to stop a sorceress.

I am sorry father but it was my destiny.
Mordred refuses to except his own fate so he sets out on a journey to find a way to change his fate. He has never had any desire to kill his father but can't find anyone to help him. Everyone he encounters tells him there is no changing his destiny but he still has hope.
Mordred follows Morgan La Fay and a long the way she shows him that fate cannot be changed and that he must kill he father. She shows him many examples of how fate is written in stone and no matter what he does he can't change it.
So there really is nothing I can do
