  • Polonius and Claudius watch as Hamlet rants to Ophelia about marriage, love, and how he does not love her.
  • To be or not to be, that is the question. I loved you once, but now no more. Get thee to a nunnery.
  • Before the king and others arrive, Hamlet asks Horatio if he can help him watch the king, and being a faithful friend, Horatio agrees.
  • Claudius storms out of the room after he witnesses a reenactment of how he murdered King Hamlet.
  • As Claudius tries and fails to repent for his sins, Hamlet prepares to kill him, but Hamlet rethinks his actions and decides to wait. 
  • Hamlet kills Polonius, who is eavesdropping on Hamlet's conversation with his mother.
  • Though his mother can not see him, King Hamlet's ghost appears before Hamlet and reminds him of his true goal.
