  • Thomas Jefferson
  • Mabe if I expand the country people will like me.
  • The United States was born upon Geroge Washington. He wa sthe figure that united the states when America first became a country. He is the person who paved the road for future presidents, and essentially saved America from itself. He was also the one who began the isolationist idea in America.
  • James Madison
  • Why are we goint to war... :(
  • John Adams was the first elected U.S. president, and the first president to live in the White House. One of the important actions of his presidency was signing John Jays treaty. This increased tensions with France, and almost made the war of 1812 come a decade early although it did avoid a great conflict with Great Britain in the process.
  • Political Parties
  • Thomas Jefferson was the third president od the Uited States. His greatest accomplishment was the Louisiana purchase. This started the expansion of the United States. He bought the land for the equivalent of $248mil. Nowadays, the government blows through $250mil. in a matter of months, so for all that land, it appears to have been a good deal.
  • James Madison was the fourth president of the United States, and was also involved in the first real crisis we faced as a country, the war of 1812. The war of 1812 was a controvertial war. It began because Britain was cutting off the US trade ships. The United States retaliated, and New England almost broke away. This is when the national anthem was written.
  • At the start of our great nation, there were no political parties. Everyone just loved George Washington. Technically loyalists and revolutionaries were parties, but the loyalists were just deported. Then the Federalist party became the first REAL party. Those who opposed them become the democratic-republicans. Eventually the wig party started up, and the democrats became the democrats and the republicans. 2 parties. These are the present two parties.
  • The colors represent different parties that were around at the same time.
