Long ago, literally like millions of years, lived our ancestors whose name is Australopithecus afarensis. It was a common ancestor of humans and apes.
Australopithecus afarensis is one of the longest early human species to have lived. the species survived for more thzn 900,000 years. The Au. afarensis had human and ape characteristics. They had a faxial sturucture and brainsize like apes, the sepcies also had small canine teeth like humans and could live on land and in the trees.
Natural Selection is a theory by Charles Darwin it states that organisms best adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and pass on the traits to their offspring.
Like, since apes are hairy, if they movied to a hot climate they would have to adapt by growing less hair which is why humas aren't hairy. HaHa.
An example of natural selection is that apes (yes, including us humans) had different teeth in the past then we do now. this could be due to the fact that the diet of apes has changed. before the food would have been tougher to eat which changed the jaw structure. As farming became popular the need to hunt decreased, also it provided a wider variety of options. Along with eating utensils, the need to have certain teeth was not important as foods became softer. This is also adaptation because the apes that adapted reproduce, the ones that did not died.
Wow, I really understand now, thanks.
So is that where " monkey see, monkey do" came from?
I am not sure, but I do know that it applied to the situation.
