Storyboard Text

  • Taken into Custody:      Sandra was caught with heroin at her high school. She was then taken into custody by the undercover officer at the school.
  • Intake Officer:     Sandra's intake officer, Officer Brown, decided that there was enough evidence to charge Sandra with illegal possession of drugs.
  • Released/Detained:     Sandra was detained at the Chatham County Police Department Building. Informal Adjustment:    Sandra is a first-time offender, so an Informal Adjustment will not take place.
  • Adjudicatory Hearing:   At the hearing, the prosecutor read out aloud Sandra's charges: "possession with intent to sell heroin."  Sanra denies the charges.
  • Disposition Hearing: The prosecutor brings in Sandra's best friend as a witness. She says that Sandra asked her if she wanted to buy drugs from her.
  • Sentencing:    Sandra was sentenced to 6 months in a Youth Detention Center and 4 years probation.  Appeal: Sandra did not attempt to appeal to the court.
