Storyboard Text

  • "He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish" (Hemingway 9).
  • "'Tomorrow is going to be a good day with this current,' he said. 'Where are you going?' the boy asked. 'Far out to come in when the wind shifts. I want to be out before it is light'" (Hemingway 14).
  • "He was rowing steadily and it was no effort for him since he kept well within his speed and the surface of the ocean was flat except for the occasional swirls of the current" (Hemingway 30).
  • "'He's taken it,' he said. 'Now  I'll let him eat it well'" (Hemingway 44).
  • "He knew that each jerking bumps of  the shark had been meat torn away and that the fish now made a trail for all sharks as wide as a highway through the sea" (Hemingway 111).
  • " It was quiet in the harbour though and he sailed up onto the little patch of shingle below the rocks. There was no one to help him so he pulled the boat up as far as he could" (Hemingway 120).
