This is Mya! She is at McDonalds, and she is ready to eat her food! All living things need energy from food and water! We need energy to live, function, and survive.
Mya eats her food, her food is contains many sugars. When she digest her food there is a cell that comes with it. This cell is called glucose!
Every living thing also needs oxygen to live. When you breath your lungs do most of the hard work, they take in all the oxygen. Mya takes in a big deep breath and heads on her way out of the restaurant.
The reactants or the (glucose cell and the oxygen cell) make their way from the stomach through the bloodstream to the MITOCHONDRIA!
A chemical reaction is taking place!
The chemical reaction of cellular respiration takes place in the Mitochondria! The glucose and oxygen cells combine,(AKA a chemical reaction) and they create ATP energy, water and Carbon dioxide!
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
The waste products that are being exhaled/ let out of the body are CO2 and water. Mya exhales and CO2 and water is being released!
