In my geography lesson I learned about city Aqaba. It located on the coast of Jodan at the North Eastern Tip of Red sea.
It started to develop around 4000 years ago and developed on the crossroad of two trades ways from Africa and Asia.
Now it is Jordans only coastal city and its only port.
There are many hotels with a package holiday, villas, and beautiful buildings. In Aqaba there is a pleasant desert climate warm winter and hot dry summer, sand beaches, marinas, warm seawater which are enjoyed by bathers and windsurfers. Its tourist attraction include golf course and pleasure boats, snorkeling, and diving. There are 4 main tourist attractions in Aqaba: Wadi Arab Desert, Sharif Hussein Bin Al Mosque, South Beach, Berenice Beach Club. There is a very interesting trip in glass-bottomed boats to see corals, fish and sea bottom, red sea which is warmest, saltiest, reddest sea in the world. The coastline along the red sea is 27 km.
I would like to add that there is a big cargo port in Aqaba which is busy all day and all night. There are many factories and warehouses around the port. Some make heavy machinery others handle chemicals. The most used chemical in Aqaba is phosphate.
Aqaba is connected to two major highways in Jordan. Desert Highway and Kings highway.
Today Aqaba is famous as a holiday resort and port.
