Based on the English bill of rights 1698, it was common la to bear arms. The U.S wanting to protect families etc. passed the second amendment, which let people bear arms. John Adams, James Monroe, and James Madison were the main supporters.
On July 25, 1868 the 14th amendment was passed which gave part to ending slavery. The main supporter and creator of the amendment, Abraham Lincoln, always hated slavery, and him and his family wanted it to end.
The 26th Amendment was ratified on July 1st,1971. The idea started on a court case Oregon vs. Mitchelle and at first made it where 18 or olders could vote for H.O.R, Senate, and president, but quickly went into local elections also.It was the quickest amendment ratified.
