"An evil deed is not redeemed by an evil deed of retaliation".Many believe that death penalty is wrong and it shouldn't be done.death penalty reflects an unwarrented assumption, and it also makes irrevocable any possible miscarriage of justice.
People have been put to death for justice, how do we know they were the one's who committed the crime. For example larry griffin was put to death for the murder of Quintin Moss ; Larry wasn't even present at the night of the crime scene.Death penalty is bad but what makes it worse is when the officials don't provide enough evidence, to prove that person did it. Not only is there no hard evidence that murdering someone will deter other killers , but even the logic of this defies comprehension.
Death penalty reflects an unwarrented assumption that goes beyond rehabilitation.maybe some individuals cant be rehabilitated;but who is going to determine that. There's no amount of academic training that's enough to entitle someone to judge another incapable of rehabilitation. it explains that whatever amount of power or training no one is entitled to judge one's capability of rehabilitation .this is one of many reasons forming a powerful argument against capital punishment.
The deal with death penalty is that it makes irrevocable any possible miscarriage of justice and reflects an unwarrented assumption. In order to break the chain of violent reaction is to practice non violence as individuals and through our laws and institutions.
