In 2011 a massive earthquake hit the coast of Japan
Scientists predicted there would be a tsunami, but they didn't think it was going to be big, as the tide went out, a tsunami larger than large leaped over barriers supposed to protect towns.
What made it worse is that where the tsunami was targetted at, a nuclear powerplant was planted right next to the sea. The nuclear waste was then spreaded through the water.
A estimated death count was 18,000 people including children, teens and adults.
