  • Refusal of the Call
  • Liesel would not get out of the car. Page 28
  • This is the ordinary world, because this is where Liesel is introduced, and she is introduced, in a sympathetic way beause her brother died when the narrator introduced her.
  • Meeting With the Helper/Mentor
  • Hans Hubermann sat sleepy-eyed on the bed and Liesel would cry into his sleeves and breathe him in. Page 37
  • Liesel moved in.  Page 120
  • Liesel has leave her mother and accept the call to adventure and meet her new family.

  • Liesel finally gets to the new house and can meet her new parents, but she refuses to get out of the car, thus, refusing the call to adveture
