Storyboard Text

  • Hey Jim, thanks for coming over.
  • Hiyah Ilah. No problem, thank you for helping me out.
  • So I heard you wanna learn about planets? Well you've came to the right spot.
  • Great, thanks for your help. I want to learn about Mercury.
  • Mercury was named after the messenger-god of Jupiter, and is the closest planet to our sun. It is also the smallest planet in our solar system.
  • You bet, but not to mention that it's rotation and revolution pattern is crazier.
  • Glad you asked. Mercury topography is covered in craters. It also has many ridges and terrains. Not to mention that there was once a period in time where Mercury had volcanoes!
  • That's awesome! What's Mercury like?
  • That's pretty crazy...
  • It takes about 59 earth days to spin on its axis once (day),  and about 88 earth days to complete one orbit around the sun (year).
  • Well I don't think its impossible, but I think it would be pretty hot haha. Mercury's surface temperature can range from -280 degrees all the way up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. This is possible because its located so close to the sun.
  • You think humans could ever live there?
