Winter at Valley Forge - 1777-78
This battle took place on December 25, George Washington with 4,000 troops crossed the Delaware River and ambushed German mercenaries that were wintering at Trenton and defeated them. This was important because this gave them hope that the cause of liberty is not dead.
This battle took place on October 17, militia troops surrounded British troops at Saratoga Springs and made them surrender. This war was important because this battle helped influence France into entering the war against Britain.
This is when George Washington and his troops set up camp at Valley Forge, Pennsylvanian which was suffering through a harsh winter and Washington lost 2,500 men. But Washington did not give up and went on to fight the British in Philadelphia which led to an American victory. Also the last major clash in the north.
