I was born in The United States but raised in the Philippines with my older sister for 5 years. I had come to America to go to school and live with my mom and siblings.
We had lived in a small apartment with my older sister, one of my younger brother, my grandma, uncle, aunt, and mom. Living in a small home was very new to me because our house in the Philippines was 4 times bigger but I really enjoyed living in the apartment.
There were a lot of challenges going to school in America I didn't understand my teacher or classmates. With the help of my little brother at home, I had learned to speak English. (my little brother only speaks English)
Growing up I had been used to the warm and rainy weather every day. But America was different when I would usually have a warm January in the Philippines I had cold and snowy days in January.
The second thing I was confused about was going everywhere in a car. When I lived in the Philippines we would usually go everywhere in a motorcycle except if we go to the mall or far places.
The second struggle I had going to school in America was not having my babysitter go to class with me. I also was afraid of school buses because in the Philippines they would have terrible car accidents. (falling down bridges.)
