The Giver Ch. 11-12 Transmitting Memories

Storyboard Text

  • New sights are all around you, ones that you've never seen before. Whether it's shiny, conspicuous tourist attractions or a small, unknown town, there's always something new to see.
  • The smell of new foods that you've never tasted before fills the air. Some smell sweet, some smell tangy, but each is unique. The smell draws you in, distracting you from your planned destination, resulting in a spontaneous stop.
  • The only sound is the loud screaming of people trying to communicate with each other, everyone talking over one another. Street vendors shout out as well, selling their items and food to everyone passing by.
  •
  • New, colorful foods are placed before you with ingredients that you've never seen before. Each of them are unique to the culture they come from, filling you with an exhilarating feeling.
  • The soft breeze of the wind brushes against your hands as the sunshine gleams down on your face, providing the perfect weather to be outside and explore a new place and observe the new culture.
  • If Jonas could experience this, he would feel shocked, yet excited. Finding out about the rest of the world and celebrating the differences of cultures when you've been living in a small community would surely surprise him.
