Hugh Glass was an American frontiersman born in the 1780's.
When he was on a fur trading expedition in 1823, he was mauled by a bear.
He sustained several injuries, including a broken leg and a slit neck. His partners, John Fitzgerald & Jim Bridger left him to die, thinking he wouldn't last the night.
. Against all odds, he survived the night, and many others, on his way to safety.
After two months in the wilderness, he found his way to Fort Kiowa, where he healed and countinued making bear traps.
Some say that he went on an expedition for revenge on Bridger and Fitzgerald. He went on various adventures through the Rocky Mountains. In 1833, he was killed in a dilemma with Natives near Yellowstone River.
