Jacob steals the blessing of Isaac
That is right, I am your son Esau!
When Rebekah's days to give birth were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb. The first came out red, all his body like a hairy cloak,so they called his name Esau. Afterward, his brother came out with his hand holding Esau's heel, so his name was called Jacob.
Rebekah tells Jacob to go to Laban
Behold, your brother Esau comforts himself by planning to kill you. Now, therefore, my son, obey my voice. Arise, flee to Laban my brother in Haran and stay with him for a while, until your brother won't be angry at you anymore.
Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. Esau wanted a bowl of stew, but Jacob required birthright for that. Thus, Esau despised his birthright.
Jacob falls in love with Rachel
When Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his older son, and told him to hunt game, therefore to deserve the blessing. Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to his son Esau. She told her son Jacob to hunt for the game and bring it. Then, to wear garments of skin, to look like Esau, and get the blessing from Isaac through the way of deceiving.
Jacob is renamed
Are you, my son Esau, who I shall give the blessing to?
Your name is Jacob; no longer shall your name be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name.
Esau was very mad at his brother. He was so furious, so he wanted to kill Jacob. Rebekah heard of that and sent Jacob to her brother Laban in Haran until Esau would forgive his brother.
Why should I be bereft of you both in one day?
When Jacob arrived in Haran, he saw two daughters of Laban-- Rachel and Leah. Leah's eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance. So Jacob served seven years to marry Rachel, but was tricked, and married Leah. So he served another seven years to finally marry Rachel.
Jacob thought a man wants to wrestle with him, but it was God. After the wrestle Jacob's hip was damaged, so he could not run ever again. God renames Jacob into Israel and blesses him. The place where they had a fight Israel calls Bethel.
