Palamon and Arcite are placed in the Athenian Tower where they will be imprisoned. While there, they spot a beautiful woman named Emily.
Both Palamon and Arcite fight for Emily's heart once they cross paths again outside the tower. Both wanting to be with her no matter what the price is. A battle over who can truly have Emily for good. Until Theseus finds them and demands an explanation as to what is going on, he then orders them to take a year to build an army and whoever wins the battle gets to be with Emily.
In the morning Palamon rose to make his devotions to Venus ,Arcite asked mars for help. This caused conflict between the two Gods ,so Jupiter the king of Gods, made the final decision to let Palamon have his lady and Arcite wouldn't.
As the tournament commences Arcites army appears to be winning over Palamons army taking him as a prisoner, ending the battle. During Arcites victorious moments a big earthquake caused him to fall off his horse and get injured badly. On his bedside was Emily where he told her that she belonged with Palamon, quickly after that he died.
As they mourn Arcites death Thesus argues that they should be happy for him, since he died in the prime of his life with his good reputation still intact. Thesus also asks Palamon to marry Emily, which he happily does and they live happily ever after.
