  • I must beware Caesar. I need to take action for Rome. "And therefore think him as a serpent's egg which hatched, would as his kind grow mischievous, and kill him in the shell."(2.1.31-34)
  • Act 2 scene 1
  • There is no need to fear Antony. "For Antony is but a limb of Caesar"(2.1.165)
  • We need to get rid of Antony. He could be a big threat.
  • Act 2 scene 1
  • I may be a woman but I am your wife. I have never told any secrets. I even stabbed myself in the thigh to prove it. I want to know wha is happening.
  • O ye gods, render me worthy of this noble wife!
  • Brutus thinks to himself.
  • Act 2 scene 2
  • I had a bad dream about you. I feel that bad things are going to happen. Please don't go to the Senate today.
  • Brutus meets with conspirators. They talk about their plans for opposing Caesar.
  • Act 2 scene 3
  • I must give this letter to Caesar as he passes by to warn him about the conspirators.
  • Portia talks to Brutus after conspirators leave. She wants to know what's going on.
  • Act 2 scene 4
  • I worry about Brutus. Lucius go to the Senate to see if Brutus is okay.
  • Calpurnia tries to convince Caesar not to go to the Senate because of the bad omen and bad dreams that happened. Decius convinces Caesar otherwise.
  • No, you have misinterpreted the dream. It promises good events for the glory of Rome.
  • He's right. I'm going now.
  • Okay, I will stay.
  • Artemidous thinks to himself.
  • Portia worries about Brutus when he goes to the Senate and sends Lucius to see if everything is alright.
  • Yes, madam, I will go.
