Storyboard Text

  • So what is the first amendment of the Bill of Rights?
  • The First Amendment
  • Well it means that I have the freedom of religion, speech, petition, assembly, and knowing the truth from the press.
  • Hey! You're not allowed to have that gun out here.
  • The Second Amendment
  • Seventh and Eighth amendment
  • Actually according to the second amendment of the Bill of Rights, I have the right to keep and bear arms.
  • The Third and Fourth Amendment
  • The Ninth and Tenth Amendment
  • Hey! Military dude! During peacetime in war, you are not allowed to use my home as a quarter.
  • Also, police guy, you can't search my home unless you convinced a judge beforehand that you have a good reason to think I've committed a crime
  • However, there is not enough evidence against you and you cannot be tried twice for this crime. You are free to go.
  • The fifth and sixth amendment
  • Yay!
  • We have given you the right to be told details of the supposed crime; a prompt, public trial; to an impartial, or neutral, jury;  to challenge accusers; to find people who will speak in their favor; and to have a lawyer.
  • We have the right to a trial by jury.
  • Um, punishment, bail, and fines must be reasonable - not cruel or unusual - even for people convicted of a crime (sassy).
  • We have rights other than those listed in then those listed in the constitution that the government cannot interfere with!
  • Also, Congress cannot do anything other than what the Constitution says it can do. All else is left up to the states or to the people!
