As adults, the girls meet up again. Chrissy is pregnant. the girls relive their childhood together in the summer of 1970.
In the summer of 1970, the girls decided to buy a tree house and that would be their goal for the summer. At that time, the girls all lived in the same estate. Samantha's parents get divorced, the girls go to the graveyard at night to try and awaken Dear Johnny.
The girls go back to the graveyard again that night to discover that Dear Johnny's gravestone is broken. They assume that they bought Dear Johnny back from the dead. The girls go the library to try and find out hoe Dear Johnny died. On the way, they swim in a river and see the boys. They steal the boy's clothes to get revenge for the times that the boys have pranked them. At the library, Roberta finds out how her mother died, and the girls discover that Dear Johnny and his mother were murdered.

1. The girls go to Samantha's Grandma's house to ask her about dear Johnny. She seems distant and doesn't want to tell them about him. When she leaves,the girls go up to Samantha's grandmother's basement to try and find out more about Dear Johnny.
3. The girls save up and buy the treehouse.
4. Back in the present day, Chrissy has her baby, and a few days later they go up into the tree house and play truth or dare. Samantha tells the others that crazy Pete was dear Johnny's father. They see some kids playing next door and they join them.
2. The girls return to the graveyard to put Dear Johnny to rest. They see dear johnny's grave levitating towards them, but it's only a new headstone being carried by a tractor. The man driving the tractor tells them that the reason why Dear Johnny's gravestone was broken was because he knocked it over with his tractor. When the girls go leave, Samantha stays behind and discovers that crazy Pete was Dear Johnny's father.
