  • Silent Bartering: A form of trade where the two never see face to face. North Africans and West Africans used Silent Bartering. This method of trade was used because North Africans and West Africans both had different languages, got what they needed, and this also stopped conflict. Silent Bartering took place along a river in the southern forests.
  • Traders arrive with their items
  • Traders drop their items along the river bank
  • Traders bang a drum
