Storyboard Text

  • "This Twitter couple's picnic date is so cute! Why don't we ever do this?"
  • "Yeah, that's pretty cool."
  • Why does she always compare our relationship to those on social media? So annoying!
  • We have been together a long time, maybe she wants to get married? I should propose to her in some cheesy way to make her "relationship goals".
  • Sarah and Chad love each other, but have different perceptions on what constitutes a healthy relationship. Sarah has unrealistic expectations about relationships due to the media to which she is exposed.
  • I've wanted to do this since the day, I met you. Will you marry me?
  • YES! I've always wanted to be proposed to ocean! How romantic
  • Sarah wants an extravagant type of love; the kind with men holding boomboxes at all hours of the night, horse drawn carriages, and the perfect soulmate. Sarah's expectations are starting to take a toll on Chad's mental health.
  • I thought you were McLoving me. But you just McLove the idea of me. Ingrate, we're done.
  • I can't believed you proposed to me at McDonald's. You must not care about me at all.
  • Still, Chad dearly loves Sarah. He wants to make her happy and he thinks he is ready for the next step; marriage.
  • Yes, I do. I want to marry you. I don't understand why you are upset...
  • Little does Chad know, Sarah has been dreaming about the moment Chad would propose to her from the moment she met him. She wanted it to be perfect. She imagined he would propose to her by the ocean on a beautiful day.
  • Unfortunately Chad cannot read Sarah's mind, so he proposed in a different way. Chad first met Sarah in their local McDonald's years ago. He wanted to recreate that moment. Sarah did not find it to be romantic. She assumed Chad did not care for her because he chose such a tacky location to propose. She would never be able to boast about her proposal on Facebook.
  • This situation could have been avoided if Chad and Sarah had communicated with each other.
