The North's economy was based on factories and mills.The North was in high demand for raw materials especially cotton which the south provided.The Factory workers were mostly childern from all ages.this was a major problem because childern were in a harmful environment.
The South was way different they relied on agriculture (Indigo,Tobacco and Cotton).The North relied on the south for cotton so the north could make clothing.The South had slaves to pick the cotton and thread it.

Eli Whitney 1.He is known for inventing the cotton gin and interchangeable parts. 2.These parts sped up mass production which led to an economic rise. 3.This invention of the cotton gin put the south in a bad economic place
This Cotton Gin is putting us in a bad place.Instead of us picking and separating the cotton seeds and cotton fibers.They have a machine doing our work.This Cotton Gin is taking our jobs.
Man with Gray hair:Were making Great Profit off of this cotton gin and these interchangeable parts soon the south will be out of Business.
