Storyboard Text

  • Mum! Dad! Wake up! There's a fire in the house! Please wake up! *sobbing* Don't leave me alone...
  • The virtual camera pans over the face of the character while the character is waking up in the middle of the night while her room is on fire. She looks frightened. She gets up and immediately leaves her room. This scene lasts for 5 seconds. Scene starts off really dark and gets brighter as the fire gets closer- every second the lighting gets brighter.
  •  The camera then follows the girl to her parents room from behind. Intense, dramatic violins are playing in the background and the music gets louder as she gets closer to her parents' room.
  • The camera focuses on the girl's face, then on the parents' faces as the child is shaking and trying to wake up her parents. As she realises that they are dead, the camera zooms out and gets a shot of the whole room as the fire is getting closer and closer, blocking the door. This scene lasts 1;50 minutes. Emotional music plays throughout the whole scene. As she makes a decision, she looks back and forth between her parents and the door. When she decides to make a run for it, she kisses her parents goodbye and sprints for the door.
  • I'm really sorry about what happened but i promise you will be alright.
  • Slow mode shot as the girl jumps over the fire and leaves her parents behind with tears in her eyes. The camera follows her as she runs down the stairs. The fire alarm can be heard and the sirens from the firemen's truck. Scene lasts a couple of seconds. The only source of light is the fire so most of the room is dark. The girl's face is illuminated by the fire and as she jumps, dramatic music starts playing.
  • The girl sprints out of her house as the firemen put out the fire. The camera starts of focusing on the girl's face and then zooms out to a bigger picture. After she is safe, the girl stops and turns to look back at the house where she grew up in, which is now gone. Scene duration: 1 minute.
  • No music- emotional scene- everything seems calmer than usual. The fireman then tells the little girl that they couldn't save her parents as by the time they got to their room, her parents were already intoxicated by the poisonous gas. The camera looks over the shoulder of the fireman and focuses on the girl's face. Classical music plays. Scene ends with an arial shot of the girl and her grandma at her parents' graves.
