  • Wedding Reciption
  • I'm about to tell you a story!
  • Story is being told.
  • You look so much like ghost !
  • Wedding Reception
  • I dont' look like a ghost! I was the only one who survived!
  • Mariner at one point of the story says that he looked around to see the dead bodies of his men. So he started to pray
  • The wedding guest appears and the Mariner starts to tell him a story.
  • Soon the moon rises and the moonlight falls on the ship like frost
  • The Wedding Guest interrupts him (asked a question), but then the Mariner continues with his story.
  • The story talks about how everyone around him is dead and how they've cursed him. While praying he hears an evil voice that he describes as the devil. He shuts his eyes to prevent himself from looking at the 'miserable sights.'
  • The Mariner thinks that the colorful snakes are ugly at first but then he starts to see that they are beautiful. He gives the snakes a blessing and ends up lifting the curse.
  • It turns nighttime again.
  • He then opens his eyes and sees the "slimy things"swimming in the shadow of his boat.
  • The Mariner sees strange colors in the water. He also sees elfish that light a trail of water snakes.
  • During this part, he says that the albatross sunk to the sea like lead. The albatross is the symbol for the curse.
