Storyboard Text

  • Anticlea and Odysseus often spent lots of time together. They would do anything, from reading stories to going on walks. They were very close throughout his entire childhood.
  • Awaiting the return of her son from war, she would often wander the castle at night.   Except one night a thief broke in and they  crossed paths. Both were  panicked therefore the   thief responded in violence, and he stabbed her, thus resulting in her death.
  • Immediately after her death, Anticlea   was wrenched from her beloved home and into the treacherous depths   of Hades.    The terrified  mother encounters  Cerberus   and numerous other perils of the Underworld.
  • As Anticlea travels through the underworld, she sees her son and tries to get through the crowd to see him.   On the other hand, the crowd proves almost  impossible to get through.
  • When Odysseus traveled to the underworld, his mother Anticlea saw him. However, Odysseus had to cast her aside in order to complete his mission, and he couldn't accept delays. Thus, she was forced to watch as Odysseus had to complete a dangerous quest.
  • Since Odysseus, her beloved son, leaves the Underworld without  even taking a single moment to greet her, Anticlea returns to her misery.   From the land of the dead, she awaits the rare possibility of their reunion.
