Storyboard Text

  • Wow your going so fast!
  • Fluid Friction: Occurs when a solid object moves through a fluid, such as water.
  • Well, my arms give me a strong enough force to overcome friction, allowing me to glide through the water.
  • After I jump off the bridge the cord is stretched and is able to return to its original shape exerting elastic force.
  • Elastic Force: Elasticity is when a material is able to return to its original form after being stretched or compressed.
  • How is it possible for that bungee cord to not snap?
  • Magnetism: When two objects attract or repulse each other, due to magnetic fields.
  • Did you know that the magnetic black strip on a credit card contains iron particles that can be encoded with information. It can be magnetized by any device that produces a strong magnetic field.
  • Are you paying by credit card or cash?
  • Tickets $5.00
  • Gravity: Earth's gravitational pull, pulls anything with mass towards the center of the Earth.
  • Well, gravity pulls us down at the same rate, so at least we'll die together.
  •                                          Static Friction: Static friction is a force that keeps an object at rest.
  • This block is sooooooo heavy!!
  • The fricton acting on the block, can only be overcome by a strong force.
  • So, your saying I'm too weak?
  •                                         Rolling Friction: When an object rolls across a surface, rolling friction occurs.
  • Not when your going 80 miles per hour!
  • I thought friction was supposed to slow us down?
