  • Liberty, Equality, Fraternity
  • Reign of Terror
  • Marie- Antoinette killed
  • European kings had begun to make war against France. However, the French were fighting for a cause, their newly won liberty. France begun to win many wars and as they did this they spread the idea of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity.
  • Commitee of Public Safety
  • Maximilien Robespierre was calling for action and he was convinced that to get the control that he wanted any action except for his was out of the question. He wanted to get rid of anyone who was against the revolutionary government. This meant using the guillotine.
  • Robespierre put to guillotine
  • Nine months after King Louis was executed, his wife Marie- Antoinette was put to death because the new government leaders were ready to kill anyone who spoke against them, and big surprise Marie- Antoinette did.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte
  • Danton created the Commitee of Public Safety. The commitee sent hundred and thousands of innocent people to the guillotine nobles, and priests. They hunted people down who were suspected or disliked.
  • On July 1794 people turned against Robespierre. He was afraid, he tried to commit suicide, but not for long because he was carried to the guillotine bloody and screaming. The Terror was over.
  • This was a young officer who thought greater of himself than other people and thought that he knew more than his commanders. He toke advantage of the French revolution and by 1804 he crowned himself emperor. Many were forced to stop him. He was banished to many islands and finally he died at St. Helena.
