Ayesha lived in Beirut, Lebanon. Her Granny told her Beirut was once a beautiful place. But on this day her life had completely changed. Ayesha was told by her mother to keep Granny and her brothers Latif and Ahmed safe because their city was being bombed.
''Don't worry children, Mummy will be right behind you. I love you children.''
''I love you too Mama.''
The bombs were all dropping around her, she and everyone around her were terrified what their fate was going to be. What Ayesha did not know was that her house was next. When the bomb dropped down on her house she knew it was too late for her Mother to have survived.
''Stay safe my dear ones.''
From there Latif had found an abandoned flat to live in with her granny and brothers. They had to stay protected like their mother had said. It was a hysterical time for them all.
''We could at least stay here until Father comes to get us.''
During their time in the flat, Ayeshas granny got dreadfully ill and could not move around a lot. Ayesha had to find her granny's doctor, Doctor Leila. It did not help any more because the apartment they were living in was filled with refugees like them so it was extremely loud.
''Are you going to be alright Granny? You look awfully sick.''
''I think I will be alright children, I will just need to get lots of rest.''
Ayeshas granny was getting more sick. So Ayesha made the brave decision to cross the green line to get the medicine from Doctor Leila who lived on the other half of Beirut.
I can do this I just need to believe in myself. I need to cross the green line, find Doctor Leila, get the medicine and save Granny.
On Ayeshas way to get the medicine she ran into some scary men who threatened her with guns. Suddenly an old man appeared and got them away from her. Ayesha thanked the man and got on her way
''Leave the innocent girl alone.''
''Hello little lady, what are you doing out here all alone.''
