  • Reason
  • In the story,"The Cask of Amotillado" by Edgar Alen Poe I said about a man named Monteresor. Montresor wants to kill Fortunato for insulting his name. Montresor lurors him into his basement/catacomb with a cask of Amotillado wine in an attempt to kill him.
  • Evidence
  • Montresor's actions where not justified
  • Analysis
  • Fortunato still thought of Montresor as a friend and most likely didn't realize what he said was so offending to him
  • Conclusion
  • "Hello there, good man!" he exclaimed he was certainly glad to see me." (Poe, 28) "Fortunato had insulted me. So I vowed revenge."
  • This shows that Fortunato probably didn't realize that how badly he insulted Montresor and it doesn't help that Montresor's family motto is is "No one insults me with out punishment" and that Fortunato was "blind" of the whole thing
  • In the story " The Cask of a Amotillado" Montresor's actions where not justified.
