Today we are going to tell you about the four Acts of Parliment. Let's start with the Sugar Act
The Sugar Act of 1764 was the lowering of taxes on sugar so people would stop smuggling it and they would pay the king.
Like they hoped, the people responded well to the act and the King was happy too.
Now, I will be telling you about the Stamp Act of 1765
The Stamp Act Required all paper for the colonies and Britain to be imported from London. They did this to pay for the French and Indian war and to pay for Garrisons for the soldiers in Canada.
There was almost immediate opposition by the colonies so after about a year the colonies got rid of the act, but Great Britain kept it. The paper was taxed by stamps.
