Storyboard Text

  • Structure the poem 'masters of war' by Bob Dylan has inconsistent rhymes in it, this happens because it tries to point out the fact that the return of the soldiers coming home was inconsistent.
  • Meaning This poem faces the cold reality of what life was like after the death of a loved one from a relatives or friends view.
  • Imagery The poem made me picture in my mind the sadness on the mothers faces after they saw everyone returning from home. They wouldn't be able to share the same happiness and how could they explain it to their kids without falling into tears.
  • Language This poet uses emotive language to emphasise the sad truth that there were lifes that have been lost and we can't take them back or bring them back into this world. It sets a powerful mood with language that accurately describes how times would've been back then.
  • Emotion The poet uses descriptive language forcing us to be put in one of people in the story. This make us feel sympathetic for the people who did die in the war and also the people who had to face the fact that they have to live without that person again
