  • Awiyao went to the threshold of Lumnay his 1st wife for 7 years to invite her to the wedding dance of him and his new wife Madulimay because he could not find her there.
  • Climax
  • Awiyao had recently married to Madulimay because of Lumnays barrenness. when he entered the room Lumnay was sad and distraught because she still loved him. Seeing Awiyao after his wedding made Lumnay cry in anguish, she remembered the time when Awiyao was still courting her and felt sad because after all the memories that they shared this was their outcome.
  • Falling Action
  • Lumnay tells Awiyao that she tried her hardest to bear him a cild but the gods would not give them their blesssing and so she told Awiyao that if the marriage does not work then he would live Madulimay and stay with her forever and he agrees. but as a token of guilt Awiyao gives Lumnay the beads after she asked for them she said that the beads was the the sign of their eternal love.
  • Denoument
  • Awiyao was then called back to the dance and left Lumnay in her house
  • Lumnay decided to follow Awiyao to the dance and ask the tribes elders to change their minds about the marriage for Awiayo was hers and hers alone. However as she went nearer to the dance she finally lost her courage and fled the scene hoping they did not see her.
  • She then went to the mountains and looked down on the dancing tribesmen enjoying themselves with the wedding festivities and looked sad as ever. she then remembered the old Awiyao and how handsome he was drinking water from the spring. she then observed the beans that she had been working with so many years and surrounded them to her.
