  • Transcription is when DNA unzips itself in half and it becomes smaller so it can leave the nucleus.

  • the end result of transcription is half of a DNA strand, which is called mRNA.

  • Messenger RNA is decoded by a ribosome outside the nucleus, to produce a specific amino acid chain, or a polypeptide. It later turns into an active protein and performs its cell function.
  • The end result of translation is a protein.

  • If mistakes happen during either one of these processes , it would alter the DNA and change what the child is going to look like  They could have a facial disorder, or just look different and have different traits then the parents do.
