Hercules was half god half man. Even though he was never fully a god, he still had his Father's strength and his mother's looks.
His parents were Zeus, the god of gods, and Hera, a mortal. Zeus loved his son but, Hera on the other hand was jealous. Several times HEra had tried to kill little Hercules
Zeus had brought Hercules down to earth so he would be safe, at least for a little bit.
Hercules lived to be stronger than many of his people on earth, and Hera was still jealous. So she and Hercules cousin, Eury, had planed 12 labors.
Hercules asked the town oracle and the oracle had told him to do the labors. He then completed the 12 labors and then chose to become mortal.
Hercules then went and met true friends, had many adventures, and find true happiness.
