- The Civil Rights Movement was a movement that was important to the liberation and freedom of black people. This movement connected hundreds of thousands of people, to fight for the rights of blacks. Let's see some events that led to the better society we have today.
- One event of the Civil Rights Movement was the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This boycott was because blacks had to give up their seat and sit in a separate section than whites. This law was unfair, and blacks boycotted the buses for one year. The bus systems lost money, and had to let the black shave their way,
- Lots of legislation was what officially, made the civil rights movement a success. Such as the Civil Rights Act, and the Voting Rights Act.
- FREEDOM! EQUAL RIGHTS!
- The main reason these legislations were passed, was due to marches held by the NAACP, SNCC, and other organizations.
- These are some of the reasons and events, that led to the society that we have today. Because of the Civil Rights Movement, blacks are given better, and equal rights and opportunities in America. Although it may not be a perfectly equal society, it is better because of the Civil RIght Movement.
