As the French Revolution started to die down, a French military leader by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte stepped into the take control.
Napoleon first started out as a great military leader in the French Revolution having many victories against the enemies trying to attack France.
As he made these great advantages people start to love what he had done for France. So on December 4th, 1804, Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned Emperor of France.
Now as Emperor of France, Napoleon made great advantages of invading countries and forcing them to ally with France.
Future French Territory
Napoleon then tried to invade Russia, but this ended horribly for the Republic of France. This was the Scorched Earth Policy. The Russians burned crops and villages.
After Russia, he had one more battle. The Battle of Waterloo. Here Napoleon was defeated. But his rule having a great impact on the world today.
