Storyboard Text

  • Pstt. You're a king.
  • I can do whatever I want!
  • YOU STILL HAVE TO CONSULT WITH US!
  • Goodbye monarchy!
  • We'll bring it back.
  • James I believes that his power come from God, or the Divine RIghts of Kings. Since James I thinks he can make decisions without Parliament, it causes tension.
  • William and Mary, will you take over?
  • Oliver Cromwell led the roundheads against the Cavaliers in a Civil War brought about the king not listening to Parliament.
  • The roundheads win and Cromwell becomes the dictator and gets rid of the monarchy. However soon as he dies the monarchy is restored.
  • English Bill of Rights
  • England doesn't like James II as king for being so openly Catholic. Parliament starts a Revolution because they're afraid of what a Catholic king will do. Many of his soldiers desert him and he flees to France. William of Orange and his wife, Mary, were asked to rule.
  • The short revolution ends, with barely any blood shed. William and Mary take over and rule England.
  • English Bill of Rights is made up and everything is fair.
