Stephan F. Austin was allowed to being 300 families into his colony in Texas.
The State Colonization Law of 1825 encouraged people to immigrate to Texas.
Conventions and Petitions
Mier y Teran observed there were more Anglo Settlers than Mexican Citizens in Texas and that is where the Law of April 6, 1830 came from to try to stop Anglo Immigration
The War Begins
The Texans were mad because a government offical said all ships landing in Texas had to pay them at Fort Anahuac and it was inconvenient because Ship Captains had to leave their ship and pay their taxes inland.
In the end of 1832, Stephan F. Austin and 16 other delegates went to the convention of 1832 to discuss further the Turtle Bayou Resolutions.
On October 2, 1835, the Battle of Gonzales occured.
