  •     Lancelot: I'm worried, children get punished based on the sins of their parents. I honestly think you're going to hell, but you better hope you're adopted or you're going to hell.
  • At night , A garden in Belmont
  • Jessica:  If that is the cased, I'm in serious trouble since the sins of my mother and father are on me. [Both of her parents were Jewish] Nevertheless, I will be saved by my husband and will become Christian.
  • Lancelot:  Well, he was wrong to do that. There are too many Christians in the world as there is. The price of pork will go through the roof.
  • I’ll tell my husband what you’ve said, Launcelot. Here he comes.
  • Lorenzo: Trying to take my fiancee, Lancelot? Lancelot: Wouldn't dream about it.
  • Jessica's fiancee, lorenzo enters.
  •   Oh, you don't have to worry about that. He's being offensive, since in his eyes I cannot go to heaven due to my father being Jewish. While saying you're not a good person for converting me to Christianity and raising the price of pork.
  • Lorenzo:  At least I didn't impregnate a moor women, Lancelot. I can explain having a formally Jewish wife better than that. Lancelot: She is more respectable than you think.
  • Lancelot: Already done, there hungry. [Lancelot makes fun of Lorenzo for a bit until Lorenzo tells him to stop clowning around and go tell them for real.] Lancelot Exit
  • Lorenzo: Go in and tell everyone prepare for dinner.
  • Lorenzo: So I'll be the perfect husband to you then.     Lets finish this at the dinner table.
  • Jessica: She's the perfect wife. Bassanio could life his entire life happy with her.
  • Lorenzo: He's good at making me look like an idiot sometimes, how are you Jessica, how do you like Basssino's wife? 
  • Jessica: I'll be the judge of that, lets go to dinner.
  • They exit: End scene
