  • I shall make you the father of many nations.
  • Get out!  This is the land our lord promised to us
  • we were here first.
  • My little by Solomom, i'm going die son so i want you to rule this nation wisely
  • Abraham was a childless old Hebrew man. God appeared to Abraham and promised to make him the father of many nations. Abraham and his wife finally concieved a son, Isaac, who gave birth to Jacob. God appeared to Jacob in a dream to renew the promise he made with Abraham and gave him a new name, Isreal. Jacob had a total of 12 sons. Those 12 sons later became the 12 tribes of Isreal.
  • God appeared to Moses, who led he Isrealites out of Egypt. The Isrealites had wandered in the desserts for 40 years, where Moses had been given the 10 commandments by God. Moses had died and Joshua was given the role to lead the people into the promise land. when they got they had to battle with the cananites who had been there first and finally gained control of the land which was divided by the 12 sons of Jacob (Isreal)
  • Saul was the first king of Isreal but his line didn't last. The people of Isreal choose David as their new king. David was a very wise king and considered to be the best king there ever was. when David was old he gave the throne to his son Solomon who wasn't a very religious king he worshiped money and materials.The kingdom of Isreal was divided into 2. Isreal and Judah.
  • The Jewish people had their independence for a short time before King Alexandra the great conquered Palestine . When he died, Palestine was ruled by 2 generals. who were based in Egypt and Syria so the Greek didn't really affect the everyday lifestyle of the Jews. Later the Greek Egyptian rule ended and the Greek Syrian rule took over. They were allowed to control their daily life but this ended when there was need for financial increase
  • There was no longer peace between the jews and the greeks which made some jews rebel and form a group called zealots who fought for therir independence but that was a wrong time because  the greeks were upset about therir loss in their previous battle which they took out on the jews by detroying their temple to build an alter for 
  • The Isrealites had freedom for abut 100 years until the Romans conquered them and took over their land. The Romans chose an Indumean Jew, Herod to rule over the  people of Isreal. He  worked for the roman empire, he rebuilt the great temple that was destroyed by the Greeks. Although he was cruel  when he heard his power was in jeopardy and created a plan to kill all newborn son.
