  • I can't go to Kabul. I have a wife in America. a home, a career, and a family.
  • I wish he didn't call me.
  • Amir thinks about the signs he missed when Baba took care of Hassan but he never realized it was because Hassan was Baba's illegitimate son.
  • I can't believe Hassan was my brother and now he's dead.
  • Baba is now thought of as a thief in Amir's head because Baba never told Amir that Hassan was his brother, that Ali wasn't the father of Hassan and Hassan didn't know his true identity.
  • I am going to Kabul.
  • Amir debates on whether or not he wants to go to Kabul. Rahim Khan made Amir realize that his life before the winter of 1975 was all based on lies, betrayal and secrets.

  • Amir finds Rahim Khan praying. When Rahim Khan finishes praying, Amir tells him that he has decided to go to Kabul to get Sohrab and Rahim Khan replies by saying that he will pray for him.
