Storyboard Text

  • Once upon a time there was a king of the Danes, Hrothgar. Hrothgar built a mead hall called Herot for his soldiers. Herot was a lavish, wealthy hall where his warriors could gather to drink, feast and where he holds court.
  • Grendel is angered when he hears the story of Creation coming from the hall so he tears the door from its hinges with his bare hands. When he enters he starts havoc and devours a Geatish soldier.
  • Beowulf emerges and begins to battle with Grendel. The two battle crashing into the walls of the hall, smashing everything in their path.
  • Beowulf grabs Grendel's arm with such strength that it shocks Grendel. Grendel try's to get away and shrieks in pain, Beowulf uses all his strength and rips Grendel's arm from his socket.
  • Grendel is mortally wounded and runs out of Herot. Grendel returns to his cave to die.
  • Beowulf holds up Grendel's arm in triumph. Beowulf mounts Grendel's arm high upon one of the halls of Herot to show his victory.
