Storyboard Text

  • A Secret Place
  • A Secret Place Main Character: Blake (Not Identified By Author) Storyboard author: Jack Furness Teacher: Ms Melhuish
  • The Crash
  • I suppose we're lucky to be alive. Except I don't feel very lucky. It's getting dark and I'm scared. I don't know what to do.
  • Help Has Arrived
  • The plane was our best chance. I know that. Maybe our only chance. And we've missed it!
  • A Secret Place Main Character: Blake (Not Identified By Author) Storyboard author: Jack Furness Teacher: Ms Melhuish
  • Time is Running Out
  • Driven in by the rain. The emergency food rations nearly finished. Somehow I have to get us out of here. I have to!
  • Blake runs through a series of emotions in this frame starting with feeling happy because he is on a fun plane ride with his dad before hitting a rush of adrenaline as they crash and then moving into a upset, shocked phase towards the end of the frame when the realisation of survival hits him.
  • Learning to Survive
  • Am I? Do I belong here too? For a while, watching the birds fly off up the river, I felt as if I did.
  • Once again Blake runs through a few emotions in this phase as he starts to get a hand on survival in the forest. He starts to settle in before a spotter plane flew overhead but didn't spot Blake and his dad, sending Blake into a frustrating mood.
  • Rescue
  • If you ask me, it's about time you two returned to the future.
  • A Blake has used the majority of their supplies on the wellbeing of his father, he feels quite uneasy and worried but reassured that his dad will get better, however, the question of food and supplies lingers.
  • Blake really settles into the wilderness as he learns how to survive. Blake becomes confident in his skills and has started to enjoy life in the forest. However, the looming threat of a fish-only diet in the forest worries his dad, however, Blake is yet to give up or become complacent.
  • Blake and his dad are overrun with joy and relief as a helicopter is alerted to their position by a fire started by a broken firewall Blake built. All Blakes efforts were rewarded as himself and his dad get to leave the Secret Place alive.
