  • George tells lennie to go hide in a bush if he gets into any kind of trouble.There friendship is characterized as loyal friends.The theme is friends save friends no matter what.
  • ''Aint gonna be no more trouble nobody's gonna hurt no body or steal from them''.
  • Candy is unhappy because he let Carson shoot his dog instead of him killing his own dog. Candy and his dog are the foil of George and Lennie. The theme is being a good friend can require sacrifices.
  • Curleys wife is board and wants to talk to someone and she goes to the barn to talk to Lennie. She symbolizes conflict through the story. the theme is that friends try to give good advise to help each other.
  • George shoots lennie so the bad people dont. This is a metaphor because hes killing  him instead of actually making the bad guys go away. The theme is that Friends should make the ultimate sacrifices to prevent any more pain on that friend.
