Storyboard Text

  • These deeds must not be thought after these ways; so, it will make us mad.
  • Methought I heard a voice cry "Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep."
  • Still it cried "Sleep no more!" to all the house.
  • What do you mean?
  • Lady Macbeth is telling Macbeth that he should forget about the murder from now on. If he keeps thinking what he has done, it will ruin his mentality and turn him insane.
  • Macbeth heard the voice crying that he murdered the sleeping king. He is afraid that others probably heard it, and he is concerned he will be exposed. He is also scared that the murdering dreams will haunt him from now on.
  • Lady Macbeth does not understand what he is talking about because she did not hear it, unlike Macbeth. Macbeth is sure the voice cried "Sleep no more!" to the entire house, to the entire world.
