A few days into his stay at Jamaica, Bond wakes up in his hotel room. After breakfast, Bond receives a call from the front desk reporting that his assistant has arrived.
Mathis informs Bond that his cover is already blown
Bond's assistant, a French man named Mathis, arrives at his hotel room. He is carrying a soon to be opened phone tapper in a parcel.
Bond checks his hotel room for bugging devices.
Mathis and Bond exchange small talk while Mathis sets up the phone tapper. After turning it on, a massive amount of static fills the room.
Bond sits by a window to collect his thoughts.
After fixing the tapper, Mathis informs Bond that his cover has already been blow, but that HQ has already set up a new cover for him. He also tells Bond he will be working with a woman, which Bond hates.
After Mathis leaves, Bond quietly collects his thoughts while checking the room for signs of tampering.
After checking for bugging devices, Bond sits down by a window, lights a cigarette, and contemplates how his mission may go.
